Program: Susan Forbes, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Public Relations for OneBlood

Susan ForbesSusan Forbes is Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at OneBlood, the not-for-profit blood center serving Florida and other parts of the southeast. Susan leads all internal and external communications, media and public relations as well as corporate branding.

Susan serves as the senior leader in creating innovative and groundbreaking communication and public relations initiatives that bring heightened awareness to the need for a ready and diverse blood supply. She has been recognized for creating a robust video storytelling program that puts blood donors, team members, blood recipients and hospital partners in the spotlight.

Susan is the Director and Executive Producer of the award-winning documentary, Lifeline: The Untold Story of Saving the Pulse Survivors available on Amazon Prime Video. Lifeline is a groundbreaking production that details the vital role blood donors played in saving the lives of people injured in the Pulse nightclub tragedy that unfolded in Orlando in 2016. Susan is also a seasoned journalist having served as News Director at the CBS affiliate in Orlando and held reporting and news management positions at television stations in Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Connecticut. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Spotlight Speaker: Christine Caven, PS27 VenturesChristine CAven

Christine Caven is a communications artist that focuses on social media management, web development and digital marketing for PS27 Ventures.

A visual thinker with a passion for web design, Christine creates and improves all aspects of a client’s digital presence. Millennial-minded, with extensive experience in building social brand awareness, she builds social media followings by creating colorful graphics and clever taglines to tell stories. Christine particularly focuses on utilizing Instagram as a direct platform for informing targeted audiences.

Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in community leadership from the University of North Florida. In her free time, she enjoys teaching painting classes, international travel, and volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society.
